According to an UNIAN correspondent, he has said at a press conference today he is sure it was his own resolution. In his words, it is high time to create a modern Ukrainian special service.

Leonid Kuchma has announced he does not believe the demarche of SBU general V.Kravchenko is a planned provocation. In his words, V.Kravchenko was moving from Germany to Ukraine, and was already in Poland, but when he heard that another man was appointed on his post in the embassy, he turned round and came to "Deutsche Welle" radio.

The Ukrainian President is sure that V.Ktavchenko will have to answer for his actions in Ukraine.

As reported earlier by UNIAN, on February 19, 2004, President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma ordered leadership of force structures to recall people, occupying positions in power bodies and simultaneously carrying out search activities, till March 1 of the current year.

It was said in the Decree "On additional measures for further democratization of the society and strengthening of the public supervision over activities of law-enforcement and reconnaissance services of Ukraine", signed by Leonid Kuchma on February 18.
